Invisalign Clear Braces

Straightening your teeth has never been easier. Invisalign clear braces are the affordable alternative to traditional metal braces, with the advantages of comfort and virtual invisibility. With Invisalign, correcting gaps, crowding, or misaligned teeth doesn’t impact your social life or diet. And the most significant advantage: Invisalign does not promote tooth decay or gingivitis.

Bracket braces (the “railroad tracks” of the previous generation) collect food debris and are difficult to clean. Flossing, which is essential for good oral hygiene, is impossible with metal braces. Even with a motivated patient, decay can occur due to food and bacteria accumulating under the metal brackets. With Invisalign, ideal brushing and flossing can be maintained, keeping teeth and gums fresh and healthy throughout the 12-18 months of treatment.

Another advantage of Invisalign: The full menu is available, as the clear aligners are removed before eating. With traditional brackets, firm (and healthy) food items such as raw vegetables must be limited due to possible bracket damage.

Invisalign Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does Invisalign straighten your teeth?

Invisalign’s clear aligners gently guide your teeth into alignment over time. The clear braces are created based on 3D images of your teeth and gums. Rather than forcing them into a new position, the guides gently encourage them into place in steps. Every few weeks, the patient graduates from one aligner to the next as the teeth move. Each new aligner moves the teeth closer to their ideal position.

What are Invisalign braces made of?

Invisalign braces are made of a proprietary, flexible thermoplastic called SmartTrack. It is biocompatible, lightweight, and hypoallergenic.

How long does it take for Invisalign to work?

It depends on the degree of misalignment. In most cases, it takes less time to straighten teeth with Invisalign than metal braces. A typical treatment plan takes 12-18 months, while traditional braces can take three years or longer.

Is there any pain when using Invisalign clear braces?

When you shift from one set of aligners to the next, you may experience some pressure discomfort for a few days, but this is generally mild and resolves quickly.

Who is a good candidate for Invisalign?

Anyone in good dental health with mild to moderate misalignment is a good candidate for Invisalign. It is especially important that a patient’s gums are healthy, as moving teeth in the presence of gum disease can drastically accelerate bone loss around the teeth.

How much does Invisalign cost?

The cost of Invisalign varies depending on several factors, including the severity of misalignment and how many aligners are needed. Typically, Invisalign can start at $2,000 but go as high as $5,000. We work with our patients to ensure they get the best value for their money and are happy to work out a payment plan that works with any budget.

Will my insurance cover Invisalign?

Is Invisalign cheaper than traditional braces?

Invisalign tends to be 10-20% more expensive than regular braces. However, this cost premium is insignificant – Invisalign is the healthy alternative to normal braces. Your teeth are priceless and this is a once in a lifetime treatment.

Should I get Invisalign or traditional braces?

Which option you choose depends on many factors. A few questions to ask yourself include:

  • Is cost a factor? Invisalign costs a bit more.
  • Are you willing to wear your aligners faithfully?
  • Is comfort an issue? Traditional braces often catch on the inside of the cheeks and can rub against your lips, causing pain.
  • Do you want others to know you’re having your teeth realigned? Invisalign is virtually invisible, while traditional braces are obvious.
  • Do you participate in contact sports? Broken wires and brackets require an emergency dental visit. Invisalign eliminates this concern.
  • How quickly do you want to see results? Invisalign clear braces get the job done in less time.

How do Invisalign braces compare to Smile Direct?

The main difference between Invisalign and Smile Direct Club is the level of professional care and service. Although you may pay less for Smile Direct aligners, you do not get customized care from a dentist who oversees your treatment and progress. Smile Direct aligners are created based on either 3D images or molds made from putty. The quality of the aligners relies heavily on how well you make the impression. Human error contributes to poorly designed aligners, as does the lack of person-to-person oversite. There have been reports of broken and misaligned teeth with Smile Direct clear braces because the users are never evaluated in person.
