Dental Crowns

Restorations That Look Natural

Most dentistry looks like dentistry. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.

Full coverage crowns (also called a “dental cap“) restore severely damaged teeth. Repeated fillings, abrasion and fracture all contribute to loss of tooth structure. Eventually, so much structure is lost that a tooth can no longer retain a simple filling.

What is a dental crown?

A crown is placed on top of a tooth’s base, which is supported on the remaining base of tooth structure.  (When the base tooth structure is deteriorated, dental implants can replace the tooth entirely.)

With 25 years experience, we are very confident in the quality of our work and the fantastic changes it can make. Dental crowns are long-lasting restorations; it is not unusual for them to last a lifetime. Combined with dental implants, it is now possible for complete lifetime restoration of even severely compromised dentitions.

How are dental crowns placed?

Placement of a dental crown requires at least two visits to our Watertown dentist office, typically two to three weeks apart. (Next-day placement is also available.) Initially, decay is removed and the tooth is precisely shaped. A temporary crown of either plastic or metal is worn while the permanent crown is fabricated. On the subsequent visit, the temporary crown is removed and the final crown is cemented. The result is a beautiful long-term restoration.

Mark has been my dentist for over twenty years. In that time he has, along with his staff helped to maintain and Improve my dental and gum health beyond anything I would of expected. What I appreciate the most about these dentists is that they do not push or sell services. Rather they do what is needed for the patient not the business. These are dentists I feel I can trust. Their front office staff and dental assistants have equally always been friendly and kind during the time I have been going for my dental health and well being.

I was referred to Dr. Mark when I needed a dentist.. He evaluated my needs and set the plan.. A few root canals, a few crowns and the rest is history.. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Mark for seeing me on a Sunday when I returned from vacation with a problem.. During my vacation I needed to call him with my problem and he called the pharmacy in Denver for my medicine... He and his staff are always polite and very helpful!!!
